Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is an honour and a privilege for me to invite you, as President of the IV Iberian Congress of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, organised jointly by FILACP (Ibero-American Federation of Plastic Surgery), SPCPRE (Portuguese Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) and SECPRE (Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery), to attend on 16-18 October 2025, in the beautiful city of Costa da Caparica.
With its long white sandy beaches, clear waters and mild temperature, just a few minutes from Lisbon, Costa da Caparica offers the ideal setting to host this important scientific event.
This congress rekindles the spirit of brotherhood and collaboration between the Iberian Plastic Surgery Societies, in the context of two countries that share not only a common history and culture, but also similar challenges in our area of work.
The Central Theme of this Congress is ‘Safety in Plastic Surgery’, which ultimately translates into Patient Safety, the motto that should guide all our activity.
The Scientific Programme for this Congress has been carefully prepared and covers the most innovative and relevant topics in our speciality, with Magisterial Lectures, Round Tables, video sessions, workshops and Instructional Courses, which will allow Congress participants to actively exchange ideas between specialists with various levels of training, but with the same spirit of learning.
We have a panel of Portuguese, Spanish and Latin American speakers of widely recognised prestige who will enrich and guide the discussions at the meeting.
We would also like to highlight the opportunity for young specialists and interns to present their work in different forms, with prizes being awarded in both categories (posters and oral communications).
We intend to strengthen the synergies and unity between the 2 Societies and with FILACP, in the sense of growing collaboration and interaction, with the always common goal: the Safety of our patients!
We also have our partners from the medical and pharmaceutical industries invited to share with us the latest and most innovative technologies, which are essential for improving care for our patients.
We also have our partners from the medical and pharmaceutical industries, who are invited to share with us the latest and most innovative technologies, essential for improving care for our patients.
As important as the scientific activity, this is also an opportunity to see ‘old’ people again and make ‘new’ friends, with cultures and interests as similar as they are diverse.
I would also highlight the proximity of the magnificent city of Lisbon, just 17 kilometres and 20 minutes away by car, with frequent links by public transport, separated only by the emblematic 25 de Abril Bridge.
All this should be more than enough to convince you to join us on 16 to 18 October 2025, it will be an honour to welcome you to our region, to our country,
With high esteem and consideration
José Carlos Parreira
President of the IV Iberian Congress of Plastic Surgery
